It is important to have a quiet area to do your work with no distractions. As important are the items you have on your desk. When you have a clutter of things on the top of your desk, your eyes get visually distracted, too many things to look at. This can cause trouble focusing on one task at a time.
TIP: Take a look at your desk and prioritize the things that you more often use to keep on your desk. That's usually your computer (desktop, laptop, tablet), keyboard, mouse and cell phone. Things that you do not use much, put those away from eyesight. See if this helps you focus better.
